Mentor Program
Gray Plant Mooty has implemented a comprehensive mentoring program for its associates, the first firm in Minnesota to act on the recommendation of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s challenge that firms implement formal mentoring programs for their associates. Each new associate is assigned two mentors. A transitional mentor guides the associate through the first six to nine months of his or her practice. The associate then selects a regular mentor, who provides ongoing advice, assistance, feedback and support to the associate with regard to personal and professional development. The regular mentor works with the associate to develop his or her visibility within the firm and the community, helps monitor the associate’s workload and participates in the associate’s performance reviews and the preparation of his or her annual practice plan.
